INSURANCE
Noe Valley Pediatrics has contracts with many of the most common insurance plans. We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance plan to confirm that our practice is in-network for you. The easiest way to do this is to call your plan or check their website to verify the following:

For all plans, it is the responsibility of the patient and/or family to know and understand the policies and benefits of their insurance plan. This includes:
- Co-payments
- Covered hospitals and laboratories
- Prior authorization and referral procedures
- In-network and out-of-network provider participation status
Please note that it is very important to notify your insurance carrier of the birth of your newborn within the first 30 days of life. Most insurance companies require that you add your newborn within 30 days of birth. If this is not done, your insurance carrier may refuse to add your newborn to your plan. Be sure to allow enough time for your employer and/or carrier to process the paperwork. In addition, for our HMO patients, it is required that you select one of the physicians at Noe Valley Pediatrics as your child’s Primary Care Physician within the first 30 days of birth.
PPO Plans
Many of our patients are covered under employer PPO plans, and we have contracts in place with most of the common carriers. A partial list of those carriers includes: Aetna, Anthem/Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, Coventry / First Health, Fortified Provider Network (FPN), Health Net, Humana / ChoiceCare, Interplan / HealthSmart, Multiplan / PHCS, Three Rivers, United Healthcare, USA Managed Care, and Zelis (NPPN / Stratose).
HMO Plans
We are a member of Brown and Toland Medical Group (BTMG), and this is the only Health Maintenance Organization that we are contracted with. If you are a member of BTMG and receive care in our office, it is important that you select one of the physicians in our office as your child’s Primary Care Physician.
Covered California
Noe Valley Pediatrics participates in two Covered California SHOP (Small Business Health Options Program) offered by Blue Shield and Health Net. These are small group plans, not Individual Family Plans.
Individual Family Plans
The only Individual Family Plan that we participate in is offered by HealthNet PPO. Unfortunately, we do not participate in the Individual Family Plan offered by Blue Shield, either on or off exchange. Like all plans, please contact your plan’s member services to verify our practice’s plan participation and your benefits.
Medi-Cal
At this time, Noe Valley Pediatrics does not participate in any Medi-Cal plans.
Private Pay / No Insurance
For private pay patients, we require a deposit at the time of service ($50 for acute care visits / $100 for well-child visits). We will bill you for the remainder of the visit charge.
